Sensory Evaluation
To finish off the course, Liz and Mitch tie the elements of the process together by tasting through some of WhistlePig’s whiskeys, discussing the finer points of sensory evaluation, and more.
Liz Rhoades and Mitch Mahar taste through some of WhistlePig’s products and share their sensory impressions. Along the way they discuss their approach to sensory evaluation—including the usefulness of the “bunny sniff” and the slow, careful approach to the glass. They also dig into the flavor profile of a whiskey aged in Vermont oak, and how that differs from Missouri or Kentucky white oak.
